Private Health Insurance Background Documents

The Competition Authority undertook this study following a request by the Minister for Health and Children, Ms Mary Harney TD, in December 2005. The aim of the study was to report on “further measures to encourage competition in the health insurance market and the strategy or strategies which might be adopted in order to create greater balance in the share of the market held by competing insurers”.
