Closed Investigations

Although some of the Competition Authority’s investigations result in either criminal court cases or civil court cases, many are closed without the need for court proceedings, either because:

  • We reach a view that there is no breach of competition law; or
  • The parties involved take action and/or give undertakings to address our concerns.

The table below provides summary information on a selection of our investigations. It represents only a small proportion of our investigative work and does not reflect the many kinds of cases that we handle.
